Refresher Courses
Training is excited to announce year-round “Refresher” courses. Previously, these shorter classes were only offered for returning workers during runoff elections. This course is an optional alternative for workers who meet the minimum requirements listed below. If you believe you are eligible and are interested in attending a refresher course for the current election, inquire with our Personnel team when setting up your training assignment.
To qualify for this course, poll workers must:
- have attended an in person training within the last 2 years*
- have worked in at least one of the last 2-3 elections
- pass an exemption assessment with a score of 70 or above
*In person training is mandatory for each poll worker’s first election assignment following a Texas Legislative Session (odd-numbered years)

Manual Revisions
We strongly encourage poll workers to retain their Training Manual from election to election. This reduces waste, cost, AND allows you to keep any handwritten notes or reminders you may have jotted down during the election.
To determine which manual version you are using, look in the top left corner of the inside cover of your manual for a month and date. Then review our Revision Tracker to identify any outdated material your manual may contain.
Manual (revision date) | Supplemental to use |
November 5, 2024 Manual (September 2024) | November 5, 2024 Supplemental Handout |
May 4, 2024 Manual (March 2024) | November 5, 2024 Supplemental Handout |
*Any manual used prior to the May 4, 2024 Local Election is not recommended for current use.
